Steal Her Hairstyle – Tanya Burr

Beauty vlogger Tanya Burr is the girl who has it all. The former makeup artist now has more than 3.5 million subscribers on her self-titled YouTube channel. She’s just released a book, has her own cosmetics line, and, to top it all off, she’s married to Jim Chapman, another of Britain’s most popular YouTube stars.

Burr has a pretty sweet life, but she wants you to know that she didn’t get there by flaunting a family fortune or walking the catwalk. According to Burr, her success is all about being down to earth and relatable. In her own words, we can’t all look like Kylie Jenner, but we don’t need to. People want to watch normal girls, with practical hair and makeup advice.

While we love a bit of Kylie, we can’t help but agree with her. So, let’s take a look at what this fashion and beauty maven has to offer.

The Baker’s Bun

A few months ago, Burr added to her growing list of achievements by releasing a book of baking recipes. It went down a storm with her fans, who are eagerly using it to cook up Christmas treats for friends and family. Being a beauty blogger, it should come as no surprise to find that it’s filled with glossy images of her looking fantastic while eating dainty cakes. Take this relaxed messy bun, for example. It doesn’t have much definition and it’s a bit rough around the edges, but that gives it a ‘baking with the boyfriend on a Sunday’ vibe.

The Double Braid

Alternatively, you could pinch this super cute double braid idea. Burr is wearing her braids quite short because she recently cut her hair. However, we think that this style looks extra striking and dramatic when you’ve got the length to play with. Girls with shorter hair can try it both ways; just pick up some high-quality hair extensions from ClipHair. For a burst of colour intensity, you could even wear bright clip in highlights and weave them into your braids. The fashion blogger has gone without fringe, but you can leave some hair loose at either side (like Blake Lively always does) if you prefer.

The Flower Girl

The year is almost over, but there’s still time for a lot of Christmas weddings yet. If you’re heading to one, why not steal the flower crown back from summer and repurpose it for a glittering, frosty look. The key is to keep things simple and stick with pale colour and pale cosmetics (though a little warmth on the cheeks is recommended). Keep your hair simple too, with either gentle barely there curls or poker straight locks. Burr uses curling irons to create her waves and always careful to curl the side sections inwards so that they frame her features.

The Braided Crown

If the idea of flower crowns doesn’t appeal, don’t worry. You can create your own version of this dreamy, romantic look. All you need is some steady hands, two long braids, and a lot of bobby pins. The braided crown is really easy to put together. Just braid your hair in two sections; one at either side of your head. You can use the Dutch or French technique, but we recommend the latter for your first practice. When you’re finished, wind the braids around the front of your head and position them about an inch behind the hairline. Secure tight with pins.
