What is a brun and how do I get one?

Have you heard of a brun? Chances are you have and you just didn’t know the proper name for it. They are amazing for a day to night look or even going to the gym. Updos will never go out of style and this is a relatively simple look that will serve you well and get compliments. A brun is a combination of a braid and a bun that looks great and is becoming increasingly popular because it goes with literally everything. If you want to know how to create the perfect brun, keep reading this step-by-step tutorial and show it off by #wearcliphair.

Step number 1: Preparation

This is a heat freestyle so the preparation is pretty low key. I love it with a bit of volume at my roots so I add some dry shampoo to give my hair a little more volume. Make sure your dry shampoo is 100% working in then brush your hair so it is tangle free. In this weather, I always add a little serum to the ends of my hair, more for my hair’s health than anything else.

Step number 2: Form your base

Gather your hair into a high ponytail, this will be the base of your bun so you want to have it pretty high up. Pinch your roots so you have somebody and pull out and face-framing strand you may want but make sure your hair tie is secured tightly. Add your Cliphair extensions around the base of your ponytail, don’t worry this will be concealed when you from your bun.

Step number 3: Create your braid

It is way easier to braid your hair in front of you have. Divide your hair into two equal sections. You can actually create this look with any braid but I think it looks the most interesting with a fishtail braid. To create this take a small section from the outside of your right section and join it to the inside of the left now take a small section from the outside of your left section and connect it to the inside of your left section. Pull it tight and you have your first row.

Continue this all the way to the ends of your hair then secure with a hair tie. You can pancake your braid a little but don’t make it too loose or your braid won’t look as good in the bun. Wrap your braid around the base, making sure that your ends are on the inside. Once you are happy with the position of your braid secure with some bobby pins and add some hairspray. You are done!
