Lady Gaga’s Golden Globes style tutorial
The queen of radical style, Lady Gaga, has once again graced us with a spectacular look. She is always one for show-stopping and outfits and hairstyles and the 2019 Golden Globes is no exception. A great film with A Star is Born isn’t enough, Lady Gaga wanted to have a great photo too and she succeeded. Her look was colourful, extravagant and definitely a style that you should try. She often goes for an edgy style but this look is much more inspired by a 16th-century high-class fairytale royalty with the stunning Cerulean tones and her Valentino gown to match. Today I wanted to show you how to do it with this step-by-step guide. So whether you are going to a big event or just want to make a statement keep reading and don’t forget to #wearcliphair.
Step number 1: colour inspired
This look is so heavily based on the colour, I thought it would be wrong not to talk about it. Firstly this is not for the faint-hearted or for those of you who have super dark hair and extension. You need your hair to be blonde, like really blonde. Lady Gaga has rocked white blonde hair for a while and that is the perfect shade when you are adding a dash of colour like cerulean blue. To get this particular shade of blue you will probably need to mix two colours like a sky blue and rose. Make sure you use a decent about of toner and you will not cause your blonde locks to go brassy.
Step number 2: preparation
I would say for this style the preparation comes into play when you are washing your hair after dying it. Once you have shampooed add a hair mask to your hair for 10 minutes. Dye often dried your hair out so this is a great way to add more nourishment to your locks. Add some heat protecting serum and dry your hair dead straight (if you can not achieve this with a hairdryer go back over your locks with a hair straightener). You can use these step exactly the same on your Cliphair extensions to get the colour you want
Step number 3: create the shape
Now we have the colour perfect it is time to move onto the shape. Brush your hair thoroughly and gather your hair into a ponytail. If you don’t already have your Cliphair extensions in adding them around your hair tie at the base of your ponytail to give your hair more length and volume. Next, twist and wrap your to create a half bun. This has been described as a curved top knot. It may take a few tries to get the shape you like but it does not have to be too big or perfect, just remember to leave the ends out. Part your ends and place either side of your head and curl them for a bit more shape. If you have some annoying fly aways use a little bit of hair wax.
