#hairgoals Autumn Hair Trends

Authored By Cliphair Extensions

At this time of the year, the catwalks are filled with fashion designs and hairstyles that are set to be big on the high street during winter. So, if you fancy yourself as a bit of a style maven and you like to be first to rock the trends, rather than following them, this is the place to look.

Everybody from Paco Rabanne to Isabel Marant, Zac Posen, Diane Von Furstenberg, and Louis Vuitton is currently showcasing the hottest hairstyles of the season. Finger waves are huge right now, as we predicted, and so is the wet look. Hair jewellery is another big trend that we can’t get enough of, so you might want to find yourself some sparkle this Christmas (a bit early, I know!).

The Bejewelled Mane

Both Rodarte and Alexander McQueen have recently used hair jewellery on the catwalk, as a way to bring over the top elegance and bling to model manes. We love this trend, because it is arriving just in time for the festive season. Who doesn’t love to get dressed up and look extra glitzy for Christmas parties? While the McQueen models were decked out in precious jewels, you can simply hit the high street for some much more affordable slides, hair bands, sparkly hair nets, and other pieces. These kind of accessories tend to look better if you wear your tresses in an updo, so try a low slung bun or a pretty chignon.

The Slicked Back Wet Look

The wet look is one of those trends that keeps reappearing. As soon as a hot celebrity pulls it out for a red carpet appearance, we all remember how cool it can look. This season though, it’s all about slicking it right back, with no fringes or fiddly bits. You need to be aiming for that badass, could be a femme fatale in a Bond movie kind of vibe. Extra points if you dare to wear this style with a sharp pant suit, a la Hillary Clinton. The rise of the strong, confident woman is just beginning, so start practicing your best power ‘do.

The All Natural Curly Girl

Finally, big and natural curls are dominating the catwalks! After a year of watching countless celebs and high profile figures embrace their curls, it seems like designers have caught the bug too. This is a wonderful trend for anybody who has extremely curly hair – Afro Caribbean locks, for example – because it shows that the industry is changing. There are more models with curls, more products on the market for curls, and a lot more style tips and inspiration. And don’t worry if you’re not blessed with natural bounce, add some hair extensions and you’ll be able to create gorgeous, curvy waves using a pair or curling tongs.

The Finger Wave Phenomenon

Finger waves have always been really cool, but now they’re on the catwalk. Marc Jacobs and Stella McCartney have used them on models in recent shows. They were for quite different looks, with McCartney favouring a much softer vibe. However you prefer to wear your retro waves, make sure that they’re super defined and neat. This is not a ‘do for tousled locks and wispy bits; your curls should be structured and strong. You can actually combine the wet look and these finger waves for a super fashionable winter hairstyle.
