First day festival hair tutorial
When you first go to a festival it is so exciting, music, colours, food, friends. It is the day you will probably take the most photos and have the most time to prepare. So, it makes sense that you plan your styles so you can keep looking and feeling great all festival. If you are anything like me you like to be more adventurous at festivals. So, don’t be afraid to use hair extensions that are different colours, like pink, to add interest to your style. Keep reading this step-by-step tutorial to achieve the perfect first-day festival look and show it off by #wearcliphair.
Step number 1: preparation
This style takes patience and a mirror (or a great friend) but it is totally worth it. It is detailed and is best achieved with newly washed or damp locks. Precision is key so make sure that you don’t have to do this in a rush and that you will keep an eye on detail. If this is your first time doing it I would recommend asking a friend to check it has turned out the way you want it to before you hit the festivals. This style is best with tape in or micro ring extensions due to the design. Create a centre part, tie one half away and apply a texturising spray throughout your hair to give it a bit of body.
Step number 2: begin to braid
First, take a section of hair, from the half that is still loose, to the right of your parting, you will need a fishtail comb to ensure this is straight. Take an adjacent section and wrap it around the first. You will be going under and around the first section but before you pull it tight you will put your finger through the loop and pull the strand through. pull the loop tight and transfer the second section (the one you looped) to the other side of your first section.
Heading down your centre parting gather another small section. Pass it over the end of your second section and loop it under and around the first section like you did before. Now move the second section back over the right of your first to secure your second loop. Without adding any more hair create two more loops with your three sections.
Step number 3: repeat for perfection
Now that you have started to create your braid, make sure you are heading backwards in a straight line. Depending on the length of your hair you can either stop behind your ears or at the nape of your neck. Once you have perfected one side it is time to mirror this on the other side so you end up with gorgeous double pipe braid pigtails.
