Things to do when Cutting your Hair at Home
Whether you are cutting your hair at home just for fun (because…lockdown), to mark a transition in your life or if you’re simply doing it for your hair’s health, you want to get it right. Getting your hair (or extensions) cut can be a big deal as it can completely transform your look, and of course, our hair is an expression of our personality – we know just how important it is. That’s why we want to help you make sure you’ve thought out everything clearly, so you get the right look you wanted.
1. Know what works
There are two things you have to be incredibly mindful of when getting a haircut, your face shape and your hair type. These are things that you cannot change. Yes, you can curl straight hair or straighten curly hair, but you want to get something that will suit your natural texture for bad hair days. It isn’t just about managing your hair but what will suit your face shape, so if you are considering fringes or changing where you part your hair, research it first.
2. Know what you want
Before you take time the scissors to your hair, know what you want. This is the key to getting the look you want. Length, shape, styling – all this all has a huge impact on what a haircut looks like so have a picture (of video) of the style you want as a as a guide.
3. Know what you will need
This is the next thing to think about. To get a great cut, you’ll need right tools like styling shears for a clear cut, so our ends aren’t frayed. You might already have the basics like hairspray, you’ll need a little more to keep your new cut looking fresh and healthy after a week or two.
If cutting your hair at home doesn’t go as planned, keep reading to learn how to make the best of a bad situation.
4. Make do and mend
Styling your hair can make it look completely different and when your hair has reached that awkward length, or you have a haircut you hate then that can be a good thing. If your hairstyle is uneven, make the most of it and turn it into a relaxed wavy beach style.
5. Extensions are a girl’s best friend
If your cut is just too short or awful to handle, then there is ultimately no reason you should suffer. Human hair extensions really are a lifesaver when it comes to instant transformations. They can add length and width instantly which is perfect for making your hair feel like your own again. Choosing the right hair extensions will make you as happy as possible so get Remy real hair extensions and match it to your natural hair texture and hair colour. If you want to make it easy on yourself go for tape ins but you will need some skill to fit them in at home.
